News from Social Media: Perceptions of Credibility

Abstract

To understand who views social media news posts as credible, participants answered questions related to the Need for Cognition (NFC) and the perception of trustworthiness of news posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit. Results indicate a relationship between NFC and perception of news posts credibility on Reddit.
