Outgroup Focused Ethnic/Racial Socialization: Effects of Gender, Parent Discrimination, and Parent Beliefs on Adolescent Reports of Promotion of Mistrust

This study found that adolescent boys reported receiving more promotion of mistrust messages than girls, adolescent reports of preparation for bias were significantly correlated with their reports of promotion of mistrust, and parent discrimination moderated the positive effect of parent promotion of mistrust beliefs on adolescent reports of the same.
