Differential Construal of Isolation Versus Treatment and Implications for Risk Communication

Messages have to be reframed to make sense to the public during COVID-19. Building on the existing literature that links high(low-) level construal to positive (negative) states and events, we identify the relative gain (loss) focus of treatment (isolation) as one factor that differentially activates high(low-) level construal.
