Ignore What They Said and Focus on Us: Same-Sex Resilience Strategies in Response to Relationship Disapproval

Abstract
This study focused on reactions to disapproval of one’s romantic relationship from friends and family (online study, N= 545). Those in same-sex relationships showed more resilience in the face of disapproval of their romantic relationship than those in mixed-sex relationships, by drawing closer to their partner and discounting negative feedback.
