Abstract
Prejudice and victimization can increase risk for substance misuse. Interestingly, sexual minority youth report increased drinking whereas Black youth report less compared to heterosexual and white youth respectively. When predicting problematic drinking, this longitudinal study found that peer influences were stronger for sexual minority youth but weaker for Black youth.
