Abstract
Participants rated attractiveness of own-race and other-race faces, followed by an old/new recognition task. Group performance showed better memory but lower attractiveness ratings of own-race than other-race faces. The attractiveness ratings of individual faces negatively correlated with corresponding memory sensitivity/ criterion, which trend was stronger for own-race than other-race faces.
