Abstract

On a large, European sample collected during a salient pathogen threat situation (COVID-19 pandemics), we show that odor-induced disgust is positively associated with negative attitudes towards a fictitious refugee group. This relationship can be explained by perceived dissimilarities of the group’s norms in terms of hygiene and food preparation.
