The Influence of Bilinguals’ Non-Selective Language Activation on Situational Model Updating

Abstract
In bilingual reading, attentional resources must be allocated to reduce interference from the non-target language. The present study examines whether this leads to differences in how bilinguals and monolinguals segment text and update situation models for reading comprehension. These differences are not accounted for in current models of discourse processing.
