Shame and PTSD: How Causal Attributions for Trauma Explain This Relationship.

Abstract
The study found that higher levels of internal, global and stable causal attributions for traumatic events are associated with higher levels of posttraumatic shame and PTSD symptoms. Moreover, these cognitive attribution dimensions mediated the relationship between shame and PTSD symptom severity.
