The Politics of Pay Dispersion: Reduced Opposition to Unequal Pay Among the Politically Conservative

Abstract
In a study of 480 American MTurkers, we find that participants are more opposed to higher (vs. lower) pay differences among employees within an organization, particularly if they are politically more left-wing. Higher levels of opposition are because of perceptions that the pay dispersion is undeserved.
