Daily Associations between Loneliness and Cognitive Failures: A Mediating Role of Affect

The present study aimed to examine the mediated association between loneliness and cognitive failures. Two-level modelling revealed that loneliness was significantly associated with cognitive failures at the within-person level. Furthermore, multi-level structural equation modelling showed that negative affect, but not positive affect, was a significant mediator of the association.
