Abstract
This study assessed the prevalence and correlates of climate change distress within the United States. Mean distress was moderate, although 14.9% of participants reported substantially higher levels. Climate distress was positively correlated with depression, anxiety, stress and future anxiety, and increased with self-reported knowledge about and exposure to climate change.
