Abstract

In an international bariatric weight loss surgery sample (N = 527), we found that participants who reported at least 1 Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) worth of weekly physical activity had exercise frequency measures significantly correlated with self-compassion. This relationship was mediated by body appreciation and body image shame.
