An updated framework is needed to help researchers and developers understand autotelic experiences with applications. This study examines and extends models into a new framework based on the idea of effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction (Frøkjær, Hertzum and Hornbæk, 2000) by examining usability reports gathered over a ten-year period.
