Abstract

Using a novel paradigm for examining phubbing, or interruptions in social interactions due to digital devices, we tested effects on mood, bias towards threat, and remediation of bias via attention bias modification (ABM). After phubbing versus control happiness decreased and bias towards threat increased. Bias was remediated via ABM.
