Abstract
We took an exploratory approach to analyze the relationship between serum cortisol response to a stressor and baseline somatic symptoms in people with current and past MDD, and healthy controls. Greater somatic symptoms predicted lower cortisol magnitude. Group, sex, and age did not. Only sex predicted cortisol reactivity.
