Variability across Subjects in Free Recall Versus Cued Recall

Abstract
We examined individual differences in performance variability on two memory tasks: free recall (FR) and cued recall (CR). In two experiments, we incidentally observed greater inter-individual variability in CR performance than FR performance. We report these results and a subsequent direct test confirming this difference.
