A Mediation Model of Enculturation, Social Factors, and Mental Health Among Guam College Students

Abstract
This study investigated different environmental factors that may influence mental health problems among Guam college students. Results indicate that enculturation, or retention of ethnic identity, may be a protective factor against depression and social anxiety. This association may be partially explained by one’s sense of social support and school belongingness.
