Abstract

Does listening to music at bedtime improve sleep quality and next-morning well-being? To answer this question, 48 young adults took part in a 15-day randomised cross-over trial. Multilevel analyses revealed that, compared to an active control condition, both happy and sad music improved sleep, reduced stress, and improved subjective well-being.
