Abstract
Maternal stress in the prenatal period has an adverse effect on infant general health. We hypothesize that low SES mothers exposed to harsh environments during pregnancy will indirectly calibrate levels of immunosuppression in infants. Findings support the assumption that low SES and high maternal stress levels relate to infant immunosuppression.
