Coping Matters: Approach and Avoidance Strategies Moderate the Association between Infectability Threat and Implicit Ageism during the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has naturalistically globally increased salience of pathogen threat. In this study, we explored the relationship between perceived infectability and implicit ageism across age, revealing avoidant and approach coping as significant moderators. Our findings highlight the role of coping in combating pandemic-related implicit biases.
