Social Class and Domains of Prosocial Behavior: A Target's Social Class Elicits Prosocial Intentions of Others Differently in the Cases of Donation and Volunteering.

The present research examined how a target’s social class would influence observer’s prosocial intentions in two domains, donation and volunteering. The results showed that, for donation, a low-class target was more effective in eliciting prosocial intention than a high-class target. But the pattern was reversed for volunteering.
