Abstract

Repeated claims are rated as more likely to be true than novel claims, a robust finding called the Illusory Truth Effect. Our study considers the role of personal beliefs/attitudes in climate science in moderating ITE. While beliefs generally guided endorsement of claims, there was still an effect of repetition.
