Abstract

Consistent with stereotype emulation, children (4th to 7th graders) that perceived themselves to be similar to the other gender were more likely to engage in cross-gender typical behaviors, but only when they viewed sports, dominance, and inhibition of tender emotions as more important for the other gender.
