Psychological Flexibility Attenuates the Association between Experienced Discrimination and Harsh Parenting Among Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract

This study showed that the positive association between experienced discrimination and harsh parenting was stronger among parents with high levels of psychological flexibility than among parents with low levels of psychological flexibility. Findings highlighted the importance of helping parents increase psychological flexibility in reducing their parental harshness.
