Abstract

In-laboratory studies have demonstrated that negative tones and behaviors between romantic partners are associated with elevated autonomic arousal. Using skin conductance levels as an indicator for sympathetic activity, this investigation expands existing literature by showing within-partner and across-partner links between negative interactions and autonomic arousal in daily life.
