Stereotyping East-Asian Women in Mathematics: Results from an Ambiguous-Categorization Implicit Association Test (AC-IAT)

Abstract
We took an intersectional approach to examine how Asian women are categorized and stereotyped in math. In our pre-registered study, non-Asian participants categorized primarily by gender (over race) and were faster to pair Asian Women+Arts and White Men+Math than the reverse pairing on an Ambiguous-Categorization IAT (Steele et al., 2018).
