Mother-Daughter Fat Talk and Daughter’s Physical Activity: The Mediating Role of Body Appreciation

Abstract
We examined whether daughter’s body appreciation mediates the relationship between mother-daughter fat talk and daughter’s physical activity. Path analysis using structural equation modeling indicated support for a mediated pattern of relations. Contributions to the literature and implications for mother-daughter body image interventions are discussed.
