The Effect of a Growth Mindset Intervention on Cultural Competence

We tested the effect of growth mindset on cultural competence (the ability to effectively navigate cultural settings). We found that induction of growth mindset reduced anxious and negative anticipations of intercultural exchanges, which in turn enhanced sense of competence in intercultural situations. This sense of competence improved sojourner adjustment experiences.
