A Meta-Analytic Review of Eating Disorder Treatment Programs Compared to Controls for Adolescents and Young Adults

A meta-analytic review of eating disorder interventions for adolescents and young adults was conducted. CBT was positively associated with an improvement in eating disorder outcomes. Interventions targeting multiple diagnoses and bulimia nervosa were more effective than those targeting anorexia nervosa. Positive results were maintained at follow-up.
