Abstract

Experiencing open, supportive family communication may provide a foundation for healthy romantic relationships. In the current study, college students' report of open family communication predicted greater relationship self-efficacy, which in turn, predicted less tendency to let partners dominate in the relationship. Resisting partner domination is important for healthy romantic relationships.
