Worth It: People Who Perceive Time As a Nonzero-Sum Resource Are Happier Having Helped a Friend Even When the Friend Is Ungrateful

A vignette study of 325 American participants showed that people are unsatisfied with having helped a friend when the friend does not appreciate the help. However, those who reported higher perception of time as a nonzero-sum resource were less unsatisfied having helped the friend.
