Factor Structure and Normative Update of the Brief Symptom Inventory in College Emerging Adults

We propose a Brief Symptom Inventory clinical cutoff score of 1.59 for emerging adults in college, in contrast to the initial estimate for college populations set at 1.23. We also found that the BSI is best explained by a single factor structure, rather than several separate subconstructs as initially hypothesized.
