Abstract
Confirmatory factor analyses tested the latent structure of the Stop-Signal-Paradigm. Indicators were three 64-trial sub-blocks; a single factor explained task performance. Results suggest that 50%, 39%, and 12% of the variance in sub-blocks 1-3 (respectively) was measurement error. Models that quantify measurement error should be used when using experimental tasks.
