Abstract
Reasoning styles children used to evaluate peers with different gender expressions were examined. Focuses were differences in culture, age, peer gender, and whether peers’ behavior was seen as right vs. not right. Improvement in appraisals can potentially be achieved by facilitating reasoning styles not involving gender stereotypes (e.g., personal choice).
