Abstract
We provide evidence that episodic simulation can be used to increase willingness to help amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in younger and older adults. We also show increased reliance on semantic, rather than episodic, details when simulating unfamiliar pandemic-related events compared to regular, everyday scenarios. Potential mechanisms of prosociality are discussed.
