Abstract

Medication is an efficacious treatment for adolescents with ADHD; however, use declines during adolescence when the consequences of ADHD are most severe. We examined adolescent and parent perceived barriers to taking ADHD medication. Issues related to teen disease frustration were common. Adolescents and parent perceptions of many barriers differed.
