Abstract
The present study investigated the effect of financial stress on the cognitive functions and cortisol levels of first-generation and continuing-generation students. Higher cortisol reactivity to a financial or academic stressor predicted faster and more accurate performance on the Tower of London task for first-generation students, but not continuing-generation students.
