Abstract

Thirty-eight veterans and veteran family members (V/VFM) enrolled in a treatment study and completed a survey that measured self-compassion and psychological symptoms. Among V/VFM, self-compassion was negatively associated with PTSD symptom severity. This relationship was the strongest for the PTSD symptom cluster of negative alterations in cognitions/mood.
