Abstract
This study examined effects of childhood abuse and neglect on cortisol reactivity in response to stress in adult males. Results indicated that childhood sexual abuse was significantly associated with increased cortisol reactivity, while a trend indicated that physical abuse may be associated with decreased cortisol reactivity in response to stress.
