Abstract

Virtual reality allows people to own a virtual body and vicariously feeling tactile stimuli delivered to it. It is unknown how such experiences are modified by the sexual congruence between human and avatar. We demonstrated that sex-related body-swap changes tactile preferences of heterosexual people, changes predicted by differential physiological activation.
