The Construal of Macro-Events in Individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment

We investigated event cognition in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and MCI compared to healthy older adults, using a novel paradigm. This involved identifying the event being depicted and rearranging pictures depicting sub-events of larger macro-events. Results suggest the two patient groups have difficulty integrating information and accessing appropriate event schemata.
