Gender Differences in Rape Myth Acceptance and Bystander Engagement

Abstract
This study sought to confirm research suggesting gender differences in rape myth acceptance and bystanders’ intention, confidence, and engagement in intervention. Results showed significant effect for gender, wherein women had lower rape myth acceptance and greater bystander engagement. Bystander intervention programs would benefit from further addressing gender disparities demonstrated.
