Disadvantaged Groups Relations: Enhanced or Backfired Depending on the Membership of the Source Highlighting Shared Experience of Discrimination.

The current research examines whether shared experience of discrimination promotes positive relations between disadvantaged groups when such similarity is made salient by ingroup but not outgroup members. It suggests that making connections, such as shared experience of discrimination, between disadvantaged groups can backfire depending on the source of the information.
