Abstract
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) predicts the presence of traumatic dissociation in maltreated youth above and beyond other anxiety disorders (e.g. social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety) and depression. Researchers suspect similarities in thought avoidance patterns between OCD and traumatic dissociation. Clinical implications include shifting to trauma exposure techniques for thought avoidance.
