Abstract
To assess cultural differences in the specificity of memory, American and Taiwanese young adults completed a memory test discriminating previously-seen items from similar items. fMRI analyses revealed Americans and Taiwanese both engage occipital and prefrontal regions, although Americans engage left inferior prefrontal cortex more than Taiwanese.
