Abstract

The present study tests whether specific emotion-regulation processes explain the negative relationship between dispositional mindfulness and self-compassion with eating to cope. Students (N = 307) completed self-report measures. Mediation analyses indicated that acceptance of emotional responses and access to emotion-regulation strategies explained these negative relationships. Findings contribute to theoretical models.
