Abstract
Prior studies found that gesturing improves learning and recall. However, it is unclear whether gesture may similarly improve source memory. The present study will address this question and evaluate two hypotheses about the mechanisms of gesture effects (working memory offloading and bodily encoding) using location and modality source memory experiments.
