Abstract

The bidirectional relationship between adolescent moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), sedentary behavior (SB), and depressive symptomatology was explored in a prospective cohort study. Adolescents who spent more of their time in SB than others had more depressive symptomatology 2-years later. Interventions focused on reduced SB may promote adolescent mental health.
