Immersion or Escapism? Personality Differences in Motivation and Engagement with Streaming Media

This study seeks a deeper understanding of the relationship between streaming media use and academic engagement and well-being in emerging and young adults. Of particular interest are motivations for viewing (particularly immersion and escapism), level of media interaction (active vs. background viewing), and the role of dissociative and transliminal tendencies.
